On April 16th 1935 the Air Arm was in full training with
the under mentioned Flight Cadets.

The training consisted of a complote ab initio flying o
course followed by Air and Ground Training on the lines of those
given to Royal Air Force Reserve Officers.
Air Training. This consisted of ab initio flying
instruction in the case of new pilots, followed by a course of
acrobatics, whilst the more senior members were given advanced
general flying training consisting of Cross Country flights up to
100 miles runge, Pin Pointing and Map Reading, Reconnaisance work
and Instrument Flying.
Ground Training. Ground Training consisted of one lecture
per weck on one of the following subjects:-
Engine, Rigging, Theory of Flight and airmanship,
Ins truments, Magnetism and Compass work, Air
rilotage and Navigation, Meteorology, air Legislation.
In addition to the above, the Flight Jadets are expected
to put in a certain amount of self study in their spare time. All
Cadets obtained their "A" Filots Licence soon after commencing
training.
The flying is carried out mainly during week-ends and
holidays and each Flight Cadet devotes on an average of oight to
nine hours per week to his training.
Tho first air rm Camp was held during 1935 and the air
Arm took part in the operations. The air arm also took part in the r
rocent Combined Operations and carried out reconnaisance duties.
